BAE Systems has delivered the inaugural production representative test vehicle of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle 30mm Cannon (ACV-30) variant to the US Marine Corps.
This addition equips dismounted Marines with advanced direct fire support, improving target engagement efficiency. The ACV-30, developed in collaboration with strategic partners Iveco Defence Vehicles and Kongsberg, provides lethality and lays the groundwork for integrating technologies to counter future threats, aligning with Force Design 2030 priorities.

Garrett Lacaillade, the vice president of the amphibious vehicles product line for BAE Systems said: “ACV-30 equips dismounted Marines with direct fire support, allowing them to simultaneously find, fix, and engage targets more effectively and efficiently than current systems”.
As the third variant in the ACV family of vehicles, the ACV-30 introduces a stabilised, medium-caliber Remote Turret System crafted by Kongsberg. This enhances the lethality and protection required by Marines and optimises troop capacity and payload, all while maintaining crew safety under armour.
The remote turret system eliminates the spatial constraints of legacy turreted cannon systems, providing more room for transporting troops or mission-critical equipment and reducing weight for improved mobility on the battlefield.
The ACV-30’s design allows for integrating new technologies, ensuring its adaptability to counter emerging threats on the battlefield.

By GlobalDataThe broader ACV family of vehicles, which includes the ACV Personnel (ACV-P) variant and ACV Command and Control (ACV-C) variant currently in full-rate production, exhibits open-ocean and ship-to-objective capability. Additionally, BAE Systems is on contract to design and develop an ACV Recovery (ACV-R) variant, providing essential field support, maintenance, and recovery to the entire ACV family of vehicles.
In March 2023, among numerous ACV contracts, BAE Systems secured a $256.8m contract from the US Marine Corps to produce, field, and support the ACV Personnel and Command variant. The agreement encompassed in excess of $145.3m for more than 25 ACV-P vehicles and $111.5m for more than 14 ACV-C vehicles.
With production and support operations spread across BAE Systems locations in Stafford, Virginia; San Jose, California; Sterling Heights, Michigan; Aiken, South Carolina; and York, Pennsylvania, the ACV-30 variant aims to enhance the mobility and firepower available to Marines worldwide.
