Mikros Systems chief operating officer Chuck Bristow said: “This order enables Mikros Systems to continue delivering advanced capabilities to the warfighter.

“It will also provide a pathway to increased ADEPT adoption into additional combat systems and ship classes.

“We look forward to continuing to work with our navy customer to improve and expand the capabilities of our ADEPT system.”

"This order enables Mikros Systems to continue delivering advanced capabilities to the warfighter, and provide a pathway to increased ADEPT adoption into additional combat systems."

The current deal will see the company offer engineering services to deliver product support, systems engineering, enhanced capabilities and major upgrades to the more than 200 ADEPT systems currently in use by the US navy.

The navy uses the ADEPT system to ensure the maintenance and optimisation of advanced radar performance, which includes the AN / SPY-1 phased array radar used by the Aegis combat system.

NSWC awarded the $35.1m IDIQ contract to Mikros Systems in February for a five-year period, which entails the acquisition of ADEPT systems by NSWC’s Indiana division.

It also includes the provision of logistics services, training, engineering and technical services, data management, calibration and repair of test sets.
