The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded a new contract to Rolls-Royce to provide engineering and logistics support services for the US Marine Corps' (USMC) KC-130J aircraft.
The new deal now means the company has received more than $1bn-worth of aftermarket contracts from the DoD over the past six months.

Rolls-Royce Defence president Chris Cholerton said: “Rolls-Royce is proud of our long and successful history of supporting the US DoD across all military branches, and providing a versatile suite of aftermarket services.
“Rolls-Royce continues to focus on keeping DoD aircraft mission-ready in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.”
The company powers aircraft in the fleets of all the country's military branches, including the US Air Force (USAF), the US Navy, the USMC, the US Army and the US Coast Guard.
Earlier contracts received by Rolls-Royce included services for the USAF and the US Navy, in addition to other allied aircraft via the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme.

By GlobalDataThe company was responsible for providing engineering support, engine repair, logistics and inventory management, technical data and other services under the various deals.
Additonally, Rolls-Royce supports the AE 3007H engines powering USAF’s Global Hawk aircraft at a new engine depot opened last year at Tinker air force base in Oklahoma, US.
Rolls-Royce was also awarded a contract worth more than $50m to support the USMC fleet of KC-130J air-to-air refuelling tankers in March 2014.
