Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has been contracted for the sale of HAROP system naval version to an undisclosed Asian country.
The Maritime HAROP system supports fast and accurate tactical decision-making by giving ships’ mission commanders with ability to independently collect intelligence, assess targets and strike.

HAROP features day/night cameras and is capable of detecting, identifying and engaging static and moving targets with ‘maximum precision’.
The sale is one of three major contracts the company has signed. All the contracts together are valued at $100m.
The remaining contracts are for the sale of multi-purpose ROTEM system to a foreign country and sale of the ground version of the HAROP system to an undisclosed customer in Asia.
ROTEM is the first vertical take-off & landing (VTOL) ‘Tactical Loitering Munition’. This combat-proven system is used in operations by several militaries across the globe.

In December last year, IAI subsidiary ELTA Systems and German defence firm Hensoldt signed an agreement to jointly produce radar systems for ballistic missile defence.
