The Government of France has requested a foreign military sale (FMS) of three E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Aircraft and associated equipment from the US.

The FMS has been approved by the US State Department and notified to Congress by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

Under the sale, France is seeking delivery of the Hawkeye Aircraft, with ten T-56-427A engines, three AN/APY-9 radar assemblies, four AN/ALQ-217 electronic support measure systems, three AN/AYK-27 Integrated Navigation Channels and Display Systems, and five

The sale package will include ten Embedded GPS/INS (EGI) Devices; four AN/APX-122(A) and AN/APX-123(A) Identification, Friend or Foe systems, and one Joint Mission Planning System.

This proposed sale will strengthen the French Naval Air Forces and improve its capability to meet the current and future threats of the region.

Northrop Grumman, Aerospace Systems in Melbourne will be the prime contractor on this sale programme.

Separately, the Government of Indonesia has requested the FMS of eight MV-22 Block C Osprey aircraft and related equipment from the US.

Under the $2bn sale, Indonesia will deliver the aircraft with 24 AE 1107C Rolls Royce Engines, 20 AN/AAQ-27 Forward Looking InfraRed Radars, 20 AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning Systems, 20 AN/APR-39 Radar Warning Receivers, 20 AN/ALE-47 Countermeasure Dispenser Systems, and 20 AN/APX-117 Identification Friend or Foe Systems (IFF).

The aircraft will boost Indonesia’s humanitarian and disaster relief capabilities and assist in performing amphibious missions.

Bell Textron and Boeing are the prime contractors of the sale programme.
