The white phosphor improves clarity in night operations.

Elbit Systems of America will perform the delivery order in Roanoke, Virginia, with deliveries set to take place over the next ten months.

The clip-on thermal imager will enable improved depth perception. The systems will allow marines to see in low light and inclement weather.

The USMC expects to purchase around 14,000 of these new binocular night vision systems.

Last month, the company won a five-year $85m contract from the US Navy to repair the digital display indicator (DDI) systems aboard the F/A-18 aircraft.
