Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) and General Dynamics (GD) Bath Iron Works (BIW) have secured multi-year procurement contracts worth approximately $9bn from the US Navy for the of DDG-51 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers.
GD will design and develop up to four DDG-51-class ships, as part of a $3.9bn fixed-price incentive firm target (FPIF) contract, while its partner will build six destroyers under a $5.1bn FPIF contract during 2019-22.

All ten DDG-51 ships to be built under the contract will incorporate Flight III capabilities to provide improved air and missile defence capabilities to the US Navy.
Northrop Grumman Corporation has secured a $171m contract from the US Navy for the production of AGM-88E advanced anti-radiation guided missile (AARGM).
The contract includes seventh full-rate production (FRP) lot of AGM-88E air-launched tactical missiles to help improve surface-to-air missile capabilities of the US armed forces as well as the air forces of Italy and Australia.

Awarded by the US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), the modification includes design, development, integration, testing and delivery of AEGIS weapon system Advanced Capability Build (ACB) 20.
Contractual work will be carried out in Moorestown, New Jersey, until December 2021.

L3 Technologies Inc has secured a $48.5m contract to produce Squad Aiming Lasers (SAL) for the US Special Operations Command.
Awarded by the US Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), the contract also covers delivery of spares and training services.
Contractual work will be carried out in Londonderry, New Hampshire, until September 2023.
The aiming, pointing and illuminating laser system is suitable for compact rifles and assault rifles.
