Elbit Systems has secured a new contract for the delivery of naval remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) to an undisclosed customer.
Valued at approximately $173m, the contract will be carried out for a period of five years and RCWS systems will be used by the navy and coastguard of an Asia-Pacific country.

Under the deal, the company will be responsible for supplying lightweight, fully stabilised dual-axis naval RCWS for installation on a wide range of navy vessels.
Elbit Systems land and command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) general manager Yehuda (Udi) Vered said: “We are pleased with this contract award that attests to the quality of our systems.
“I am confident that the demand for the weapon stations we offer will continue to grow, as customers increasingly recognise our unique capacity to draw on an exceptionally broad portfolio to provide comprehensive operational solutions.”
The weapon stations will feature a 12.7mm machine gun and ammunition, in addition to Elbit Systems’ advanced fire control system and modular electro-optic suite.

By GlobalDataElbit’s RCWS is a third-generation, high-precision, multi-purpose solution designed for small and mid calibre weapons.
Fitted with modular, dual-weapon capabilities, the RCWS can carry out both dynamic and static operation. It can also be used by ground stationary units, ground mobile or naval platforms.
In August, the company received an $85m contract from the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMoD) for the delivery of electronic warfare (EW) systems for the Israeli Navy’s Sa’ar 6-class corvettes.
