The Philippine Navy is set to receive its first two AW159 Wildcat anti-submarine helicopters in March next year.
AgustaWestland will be responsible for supplying the AW159 military aircraft, which are slated to be integrated on-board two missile-armed frigates upon delivery, according to Philippine News Agency.

The navy ships are being constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries and will primarily be used to counter submarine attacks.
The deal for the delivery of the two anti-submarine helicopters also covers munitions, mission-essential equipment and integrated logistic support services.
Previously known as the Future Lynx and Lynx Wildcat, the AgustaWestland AW159 aircraft is an upgraded version of the Westland Super Lynx military helicopter.
The aircraft has previously been ordered for use by the British Royal Navy and British Army.

The AW159 Wildcat features a ferry range of 963km and has an endurance of one-and-a-half hours, or four-and-a-half hours when provided with auxiliary fuel.
In addition, it can be equipped with forward-firing CRV7 rockets and machine guns, a pintle-mounted machine gun and Sea Skua missiles, along with Sting-Ray torpedoes and depth charges.
The AW159 is the latest-generation multi-role, multi-mission maritime and utility helicopter and has been specifically designed to operate in the most challenging maritime environments of high sea state and associated deck motion conditions.
It is fitted with a range of anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare weapon systems.
