General Dynamics Electric Boat has received a $126.1m contract modification to develop common missile compartment for Columbia-class and Successor-class submarines.

The company will procure long-lead time materials for missile tubes for integration onto both the US Navy’s Columbia-class submarine and the Royal Navy’s Successor-class ballistic-missile submarine.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation has received a one-year contract for the maintenance of 44 F-5N/F fighter aircraft operated by the US Navy and Marine Corps Reserves.

The contract covers engineering support, depot level maintenance, repair and overhaul, inspections, modifications, and procurement of structural components to ensure safe operation of the F-5N/F aircraft.

The $34.67m contract is a modification to the previous contract awarded by the US Naval Air Systems Command.

Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions has received a $27.87m contract modification to provide non-recurring engineering (NRE) and up to 15 test articles to support the AN/ALQ-99 low band consolidation (LBC) system phase II.

The NRE efforts will help modify the LBC by reducing transmitter weight, while the test articles will be used to qualify and test the modified transmitter and applicable technical data.

The contractual work is expected to be closed by July 2020.

The Boeing Company has been awarded a $1.165bn contract by the US Naval Air Systems Command to support the production and delivery of 22 F/A-18E and six F/A-18F Super Hornets in support of the Government of Kuwait.

Boeing will deliver long-lead non-recurring engineering for the development of a baseline configuration of the F/A-18E and F/A-18F aircraft, under the deal.

The contractual work is expected to be completed by September 2022.

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has secured a $119.59m contract modification for full-rate production of the US Navy’s AN/SLQ-32(V)6 Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Programme (SEWIP) Block 2 subsystems through December 2019.

The programme aims to upgrade the existing AN/SLQ-32(V) electronic warfare system.

SEWIP Block 2 will provide enhanced electronic warfare capability by expanding the receiver/antenna group.
