Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation has received a $126.5m contract modification for work on the US Navy’s CH-53K King Stallion aircraft.
The company will procure long-lead items for the low-rate initial production of seven Lot III CH-53K aircraft as part of the deal.

The one-year modification has been awarded by the US Naval Air Systems Command.
BAE Systems has been awarded a contract worth $72m to upgrade the US Navy’s Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser, USS Philippine Sea (CG-58).
BAE is set to perform modernisation and overhaul work on the CG-58 at the company’s facility as part of the agreement.
The upgrade is scheduled for completion between April 2018 and February 2019 and is expected to make the ship available for continued service.

By GlobalDataThales has received a contract to carry out studies and technological developments for advanced sonar systems for integration onto the French Navy’s SNLE 3G third-generation, nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN).
The company will conduct a 42-month study and development programme under the agreement, which will include the development of a new sonar interceptor and final validation of the fourth-generation flank arrays.
The sonar system will be equipped with an advanced adaptive antenna and threat classification technology.
Harris Corporation has been awarded a contract modification worth $161.05m to support the full-rate production of F/A-18 Hornet fighter aircraft for the US Navy and the Government of Australia.
The company will deliver 86 full-rate production lot 15 AN/ALQ-214 A(V)4/5 integrated defensive electronic countermeasures (IDECM) jammer systems as part of the contract.
The modification programme is scheduled for completion by May 2021 and also covers seven WRA2 A(V)4 modulators and eight WRA1 A(V)4 receiver / processors.
