Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation has won a contract modification worth $23.16m for the full-rate production of joint counter-radio-controlled improvised explosive device electronic warfare (CREW) increment one block one (I1B1) systems.

The joint CREW I1B1 systems are intended to offer protection for combat troops, vehicles and military installations against radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The deal was awarded by the US Naval Sea Systems Command and the contracted work is expected to be completed by August 2022.

Leidos has been selected to provide logistics, maintenance and operations support for the US Navy signature silencing programme for naval platforms managed by the Southeast Alaska Measurement Facility.

The five-year, $42m contract was awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division and covers silencing technology, silencing requirements, materials and related systems.

The programme is expected to enable the naval platforms to develop low acoustic, radar, infrared, electro-optical and magnetic signatures.

Bath Iron Works has received a $23.9m contract modification to continue to provide lead yard services for the US Navy’s DDG 51 Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers until June 2018.

The contractor is set to provide liaising services, follow-on ship construction, class logistic services, class design agent services, general class services, class change design services for follow-on ships, as well as Arleigh Burke-class flight III upgrade design efforts, under the arrangement.

Bell-Boeing JPO has received a one-year, $19.67m contract modification to support the production of V-22 tilt-rotor aircraft for the US Navy.

The modification covers the supply of additional long-lead material and associated services to facilitate the production of seven Lot 23 V-22 aircraft.
