General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, has secured the Ship and Air Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Systems Support (SACSS) contract to continue work on modernising the US Navy’s fleet.
The contract, valued at $988m, is intended to enhance the operational effectiveness and readiness of naval forces, according to GDIT.

Awarded in December, it includes a one-year base period with four additional one-year options and a further six-month option.
GDIT will deliver integration, engineering, procurement, logistics and installation services across all classes of surface combatant ships.
This scope covers guided missile ships, aircraft carriers, Coast Guard vessels, crewed and uncrewed aircraft as well as shore stations.
The company’s responsibilities include modernising and integrating C5ISR systems to support the operational effectiveness and readiness of US naval forces.

GDIT brings extensive experience in providing mission-critical services for the US Navy.
Its portfolio includes supporting the development of electronic warfare technologies for airborne platforms, offering training services for over 100,000 US and allied sailors globally, and implementing AI and machine learning solutions for the Navy Enterprise Service Desk programme.
In 2022, GDIT received a contract from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division to supply IT support to the F-35 programme.
