Navigation solutions provider Exail has been awarded a contract by an unnamed US defence company for Phins Compact Inertial Navigation Systems (INS).
The company will deliver 100 Phins Compact INS to the unnamed company for uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs).

The system is designed to provide accurate navigation capabilities, essential for the operation of UUVs in complex and challenging maritime environments.
In addition, the compact form makes it suitable for fast integration.
Exail sales director Carlos Lopes said: “We are grateful for our client’s trust in Exail technology. We are confident that our INS will deliver the precision and robustness required for UUVs to operate effectively across varied environments.

Exail’s technology is implemented by more than 50 navies worldwide into a range of autonomous subsea vehicles.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of other strategic wins for Exail.
Earlier in the month, France’s Naval Group chose Exail to provide advanced navigation systems for the Hellenic Navy’s new Defence and Intervention Frigates (FDI).
Additionally, Exail was also awarded a contract to supply five DriX H-8 uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) to an unnamed European nation.
