Mission-critical services provider Engility has been awarded a $16m task order extension by Space and Naval Warfare Systems (SSC) Atlantic to provide technology to support the US Navy’s tactical afloat network.

The task order extension is set to expand Engility’s integration of products and services, and will further establish the company’s capabilities as an integrator of SSC Atlantic products and services for afloat and shore commands.

Engility CEO Lynn Dugle said: “This win allows Engility to continue providing domain expertise that will allow the Navy tactical afloat networks to dominate the cyber warfare arena.

The network was earlier known as consolidated afloat networks and enterprise services (CANES), and will allow the US Navy to deploy current technology and operating systems.

The navy will also be able to upgrade to new technology and equipment advances once they are available.

Under the task order extension, Engility will provide software and networking services related to data, transport, voice and video services, systems management, and cybersecurity system performance for CANES programmes.

It will also support various other services, including command, control, communications and computer readiness assessment, system grooms, as well as other related fleet service missions.

The award is an 18-month cost-plus-fixed-fee task order extension.
