Chantier Davie Canada and Project Resolve have selected OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) to support the Royal Canadian Navy's (RCN) Auxiliary Oil Replenishment (AOR) provision of service project.

OSI will supply its integrated navigation and tactical system (INTS) for the conversion of RCN's container vessel MV Asterix into an AOR ship to help address the navy's supply ship requirements.

Project Resolve CEO Spencer Fraser said: "OSI has fantastic technology with a proven pedigree.

"They have their navigation equipment on all RCN warships, including the RCN's subs and have exported their solutions to 20 navies globally."

OSI president and CEO Ken Kirkpatrick said: "This is the same technology that is being used on the AOPS programme.

"OSI has fantastic technology with a proven pedigree."

"Using pull-through technology drives commonality across the RCN, providing a cost-effective integrated navigation and tactical solution to these Canadian projects."

Built around OSI's ECPINS navigation system, the INTS is an integrated bridge system, featuring selected radars and navigation sensors to meet the requirements of demanding military environments.

The scalable, IMO and Nato STANAG 4564 warship electronic chart display and information system compliant system is suitable for new builds or existing platform retrofits allowing warships to operate effectively in adverse environments.

The system has W-AIS functionality that allows for a detailed recognised maritime picture to be compiled and managed, providing smaller units without an operations room with the ability to have a rich picture and enhanced situational awareness.

OSI did not disclose the number of systems ordered nor their delivery schedule.
