The US Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC) has contracted Jacobs Engineering Group (JEC) to provide communications training services to Marine Raiders combat personnel.
For the contract, the company will use its team of highly qualified communication and data experts to develop training modules and provide hands-on training on radio and data communication systems.
It will also provide technical advice to MARSOC to train personnel to use and employ the ground-based and satellite communications systems.
Jacobs senior vice-president Aerospace and Technology Darren Kraabel said: "Jacobs is proud to provide this unique and important training capability in support of MARSOC. This appointment extends our long-standing and successful relationship with MARSOC."
As a service component of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), MARSOC is tasked by the commander of USSOCOM to train, organise, equip and deploy task organised, scalable and responsive US Marine Corps Special Operations Forces worldwide in support of combatant commanders and other agencies.
MARSOC has been directed to conduct foreign internal defence, special reconnaissance, and direct action.
In November 2013, the company received two task orders under a five year, multiple-award Marine Corps Logistics Support Services (MCLOGSS) indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
Under the contract, Jacobs was tasked to provide programmatic and technical support for the Weapon System Management Center and the mine resistant ambush protected programme.
