Engility to deliver NAVAIR airworthiness contractor support services

The US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Airworthiness and CYBERSAFE Office has contracted Engility to provide technical services to support aircraft safety-of-flight determinations, and prepare the resulting flight clearances.

The $38m cost-plus-fixed-fee contract will have a one-year base performance period and includes three optional years.

Engility will deploy a team of experts, who will work in partnership with the Airworthiness and CYBERSAFE Office to deliver products and services to NAVAIR and the warfighter.

The team will perform research and analysis, and will make recommendations on the airworthiness of the aircraft.

Engility will focus on converting navy flight and technical information manuals into next-generation digital publications to allow access on electronic and mobile devices.

The company will also offer engineering support to assist the programme office’s effort in developing the policies and criteria to certify aircraft and weapons systems for their cybersecurity posture.

Last year, Engility received a $14m contract from the US Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Panama City Division (PCD) to deliver technology upgrades and life cycle support for the deployable joint command and control (DJC2) system under NSWC’s Joint and Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) family of systems.
