Peraton has received a follow-on technical engineering services contract worth up to $102m from the US Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP).

As per the contract, the company will be responsible for the acquisition, development, deployment, and operational support of Reentry Body aspects of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) strategic weapons systems of the US Navy.

The contract value is valid over one base year and four optional years.

Peraton Space, Intelligence & Cyber sector president Roger Mason said: “Receiving the recompete award for this programme further demonstrates the longstanding, trusted partnership between the US Navy and Peraton and represents a critical next step in the modernisation of our national defence capabilities.”

The company will continue to aid the technical, programmatic, system safety, and operational aspects of the development, refurbishment, and life extension programmes of the Reentry Body systems.

It will also support the assessment of performance and vulnerability of the system to difficult environments.
