DCNS has started regular overhaul (ROH) / adaptation work to integrate the M51 missile on the final of three French ballistic nuclear submarines (SSBN), Le Téméraire.
While preparation operations on the vessel were performed at Île Longue, ROH work on the submarine will be carried out at dock 8 of the naval base in Brest.
The company has been carrying out adaptation work on the submarines since 2010 to integrate the new M51 (IA M51) strategic missile.
The missile was developed under the project management of the French Defence Procurement and Technology Agency (DGA).

To be supervised by DCNS with DGA and the Fleet Support Service (SSF), the adaptation work will be conducted over a period of 18 months, and will also involve an extensive refit maintenance operation.
