The Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of China has awarded a contract to helicopter design and manufacturing company, AgustaWestland for two Grand light twin helicopters.

The contract also includes two more helicopters to be exercised in 2010 as an option.

The MSA has selected the helicopter for its high performance capabilities, payload and especially for its maritime capabilities.

The helicopters will be stationed aboard the MSA’s new large vessels operating in the Guangdong province, Southern China to guard against water pollution.
