State-owned shipbuilding company Navantia has performed the official combat system tests on the Spanish Navy’s new S-80 class submarine ‘S-81’ at its shipyard in Cartagena, Spain.
S-81 is the first submarine of the S-80 class designed and built by Navantia. It was christened as ‘Isaac Peral’ after its launch in May this year.
Last month, the official qualification tests of the first version of the Integrated Nucleus of the Combat System (ICSC) were carried out in the LBTS of the S-80 programme.
Navantia said that the test results were proven to be fully satisfactory.
