Avingtrans subsidiary Hayward Tyler has secured a contract for the delivery of high-integrity pumps for the UK Royal Navy’s Astute-class nuclear-powered submarine fleet.

In addition to supplying the pumps, the company will be responsible for providing the UK Navy with through life vessel support.

Deliveries will be carried out by the Hayward Tyler team based at the company facility in Luton, England, UK.

Other sister firms of the company, Peter Brotherhood, Stainless Metalcraft and Ormandy Rycroft, are also responsible for supporting the UK Navy, including the recent production and testing of the steam turbines for the Astute-class vessels.

Designed to replace the Royal Navy’s five Swiftsure-class submarines, the fleet of seven Astute-class ships are to be based at Faslane in Scotland.
