BAE Systems has collaborated with Atlantic & Peninsula Australia, Saab, and Navantia to support the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) landing helicopter dock (LHD) assets.

The programme team will maintain the capabilities of the LHD assets, and optimise their sustainment and support system.

BAE Systems has submitted its bid to the Australian Government for the continued delivery of sustainment and support services for the RAN’s Canberra-class ships and the LHD Landing Craft (LLC), in addition to associated support facilities on shore.

BAE Systems Australia was selected as the principal contractor for the Canberra-class project. It will provide the initial five-year in-service support for the vessels.

The company has provided support for the Australian Navy ships HMAS Canberra and HMAS Adelaide from Garden Island facility.

As the LHD platform designer, Navantia has developed hulls for the Canberra-class ship.
