A US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) 21 Omnibus extension contract has been awarded to Alion Science and Technology.

Valued at $74m, the 18-month agreement has been awarded under the US Navy’s Seaport-E multiple-award contract.

Under the agreement, the company will be responsible for delivering continuous technical services to NAVSEA 21 that would help support naval vessel maintenance and upgrade for in-service ships throughout their lifecycle.

The US Navy’s surface ship lifecycle maintenance management is built upon a complete, well-engineered integrated class maintenance plan (ICMP).

“Consistent with this critical and complex mission is a need for continued professional support services to assist government personnel.”

Alion Science and Technology senior vice-president Vince Stammetti said: “Consistent with this critical and complex mission is a need for continued professional support services to assist government personnel in efficiently, and effectively, delivering lifecycle maintenance and ultimately, warfighting capability to the fleet.”

The maintenance plan enables the planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) process, increases maintenance productivity and attains surface ship expected service-life goals.
