The top five companies accounted for 37% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that CEA filed the most batteries patents within the aerospace, defence & security industry in Q2 2024. The company filed 23 batteries-related patents in the quarter, compared with 4 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Oshkosh with 20 batteries patent filings, BAE Systems (12 filings), and Electric Power Systems (9 filings) in Q2 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 29% share of total patent filings
