On 28 June, Imenco purchased Kongsberg Maritime’s harsh environment CCTV systems and subsea camera business.

Imenco is a leading technology company within design, development and manufacture of helicopter fuel systems, diving systems, mechanical & electrical engineering, lifting & handling products and subsea cameras, lasers & subsea LED lights. The company was established in 1979 and is headquartered in Haugesund, Norway.

For more than 25 years, Imenco Subsea Electronics has been a leading supplier of subsea and topside camera systems, stills imaging, subsea lasers and subsea lighting products to the offshore oil & gas, ROV, oceanographic and subsea markets around the world.

The divestment is part of KONGSBERG’s continuous work to adjust and focus the business portfolios in different business areas.

For Imenco, this acquisition is a step towards becoming the market leader in advanced underwater camera technology. In the last few years, Imenco has developed a new and unique series of IP-based cameras for subsea applications within different markets ranging from oil & gas, ROV and aquaculture. This acquisition broadens the Imenco Subsea Electronics portfolio and adds high-quality CCTV camera systems to its extensive product range.

The transaction was completed on 28 June. The business is continuing as Imenco UK Ltd.
