Kongsberg Maritime Marine CCTV and Underwater Camera Imaging Equipment

Kongsberg MaritimeKongsberg Maritime (KM) Camera Group provides naval closed-circuit television (CCTV) and underwater camera imaging equipment to navies, special forces, coastguards and security specialists worldwide.

The company designs and engineer’s quality camera systems using a broad spectrum of available technologies.

Naval surveillance systems for surface vessels

We have wide-ranging expertise in the design, production and supply of specialised cameras and CCTV systems for surface navy vessels.

Solutions include our amphibious low-light surveillance system (ALLSS) and helicopter operations surveillance system (HOSS), which have low-light capabilities, as well as integrated MIL-SPEC CCTV surveillance systems for day and night surveillance, monitoring, safety and security purposes.

These systems are available in standard definition (SD) monochrome, high-definition (HD) colour day / night, with analogue and internet protocol (IP) options.

The systems comprise various camera and control options that have been fully qualified to meet the stringent high military level specifications for shock (MIL-STD-901D ‘hammer’ shock test), vibration (MIL-STD-167-1A Shipboard), electromagnetic interference (EMI) (MIL-STD-461F), and temperature and humidity (MIL-STD-810F).

The system provides monitoring options both above and below deck, including areas such as flight / helideck, well deck, hangar bay, engine room, machinery space and waterline security.

Marine digital IP CCTV equipment for naval vessels

In addition to our fully military qualified range, we also provide KM Marine CCTV, which is a ruggedised digital marine IP CCTV system.

The equipment is recommended for vessels requiring a rugged, commercial-off-the-shelf surveillance monitoring, control and recording, marine CCTV system, designed to meet the safety, security and reliability requirements for a wide variety of commercial, coastguard and naval support vessels.

The KM Marine CCTV System optimises operational efficiency and offers an integrated working environment for safe and effective management of critical vessel applications, as well as the deployment and movement of ship personnel.

The system enables the flexible configuration of operator stations together with a wide range of camera viewing solutions.

The camera designs suit all top-deck, below-deck and underwater monitoring applications, while users are able to use the latest IP Network and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) cabling infrastructure to simplify installation requirements, optimise flexibility and significantly lower vessel installation costs.

The system architecture allows for cost-efficient, scalable installations on ships of all sizes, ranging from requirements for only a few cameras, up to very large integrated systems with hundreds of cameras.

Benefits of the CCTV system:

  • Powerful and flexible video management software
  • Integration with other Kongsberg Vessel Management solutions, including K-Chief and K-IMS for remote land-based transmission of data, control and diagnostics
  • Simplified, cost-effective system installation using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology
  • Open network video interface (ONVIF) compliant software and cameras allowing endless integration possibilities, maximum system compatibility and flexibility
  • Wide range of options allowing the system to be easily customised
  • Open platform allowing custom solutions to be added for access control, video analytics and other future technologies
  • High-definition camera viewing solutions for every monitoring application and vessel location – topside, hazardous area, below-decks and subsea
  • DNV GL-type-approved rugged marine grade system components, where required, for integrated bridge vessel solutions
  • Naval Mil-Spec and ultra-low-light camera and equipment options where required for extreme EMI, shock and vibration requirements
  • Seamless integration with alarms, passive infra-red (PIR) detectors, fire detection systems
  • Global sales and local customer support through Kongsberg offices worldwide
