The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has commissioned the construction of two auxiliary oiler replenishment (AOR) ships to replace the current HMA Ships Success and Sirius. The ships are intended to carry fuel, dry cargo, water, food, ammunition, equipment and spare parts to provide operational support for the deployed naval or combat forces operating far from the port on the high seas for longer periods.
Rubicon Associates has been selected to provide CASG with Program and Product Management Services and Support, which will include the placement of a Commonwealth Onsite Representative during the construction of the AORs at the Navantia shipyard in Ferrol, Spain. Rubicon Associates will provide independent schedule monitoring, construction monitoring and collation of necessary evidence to assist the Commonwealth to ensure the suppliers meet the requirements of the SEA 1654 Phase 3 Maritime Operational Support Capability (MOSC) Program.
