Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a contract with the Turkish company ASELSAN for delivery of integrated underwater surveillance systems as part of the complete above-water / underwater surveillance and detection systems for protection of the AKSAZ and FOÇA naval bases (YUNUS) in Turkey. Costing approximately NOK130 million, the contract was won in an open international competition. Delivery is scheduled for completion within 36 months.

“For more than 30 years KONGSBERG has delivered integrated systems for protection of various assets and platforms, and this contract marks an important step forward in providing advanced systems for protection of harbours and coastal areas,” reports executive vice-president of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Nils-Oddvar Hagen. “The underwater surveillance systems for the AKSAZ and FOÇA naval bases includes integrated operation of the active and passive acoustic systems with dedicated diver detection systems, all based on technology from KONGSBERG.
