Rodman has delivered the last Rodman 56 unit out of the four patrol boats for
coastal surveillance ordered by the Xunta de Galicia (Autonomic Government) for the Coast Guard Service.

Rodman 56 is a coastal surveillance patrol boat, 17m in length and 5m in beam. Equipped with two diesel engines MAN, each 900 HP-powered and propelled by two water jets, providing optimal performance and manoeuvrability to tackle different boat operations.

At the delivery ceremony, guests were able to test the seaworthiness and performance of the Rodman 56 Seixo Branco during sea trials carried out in the Vigo Bay. Rodman Shipyard is currently developing the new Offshore and Surveillance Vessel Rodman 130 for the Coast Guard Service of the Xunta de Galicia.

With an overall length of 40 m, the new model of the patrol vessel has been designed to perform inspection and surveillance tasks, as well as support and control of the fleet, contributing to the preservation of the marine environment and ensuring the compliance of maritime regulations.

The Rodman 130 Patrol Vessel will be one of the largest vessels built worldwide, using glass-reinforced polyester. It is a vessel with hybrid propulsion, thanks to an integrated hybrid gearbox. The patrol vessel will be equipped with two marine diesel engines with a maximum power to allow the development of a maximum speed of up to 27k.

The building of the new model of the patrol vessel consolidates Rodman’s position as one of the world’s leaders in the construction of professional GRP boats and vessels. All professional and leisure crafts built by the shipyard are widely recognised and highly valued by the most demanding shipowners, as well as organisations and government administrations around the world.
