Curtiss-Wright’s EMS division today announced it has received an order to provide eleven of its MANTIS-RAM Aircraft Tug systems in support of Indian Coast Guard requirements. The contract was issued by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) of India in support of its contract with the Indian Coast Guard for the supply of HAL’s Dhruv Mk III helicopter.

“We are very pleased to support HAL and the Indian Coast Guard’s Dhruv Mk III helicopter programme and to have India as a first-time customer for our products,” said Greg Hempfling, senior vice-president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright’s EMS division. “Selection of the MANTIS-RAM Aircraft Tug demonstrates our capabilities in providing solutions for handling aircraft in the severe conditions typical of the marine environment.”

Curtiss-Wright’s INDAL business will manufacture and test all MANTIS-RAM Aircraft Tugs at its facility based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Curtiss-Wright has delivered customised aircraft handling solutions to several of the world’s leading navies.
