The US Navy has awarded a follow-on contract to Raytheon for the delivery of Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT) protected Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite communication (SATCOM) terminals.

The navy had initially awarded the contract to Raytheon last year for 22 systems and the new order brings the total contract value to more than $145m.

NMT is a family of multiband ship, submarine and shore communications terminals providing five times more bandwidth than other systems to the navy’s military-band satellite communications.

NMT is designed to offer all services and coalition partners access to SATCOM capabilities.
