Alion Science and Technology Corporation has secured a five-year contract, valued at $145m, from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide support services for the US Navy’s DDG 51 Shipbuilding programme.

Under the contract, Alion will perform a range of tasks in Washington DC; Pascagoula, Mississippi; and Bath, Maine.

Bechtel Plant Machinery has received a nuclear contract modification worth $64.33m from the US Naval Sea Systems Command.

Bechtel Plant Machinery will manufacture naval nuclear propulsion systems as part of the contract.

The US Naval Air Systems Command has contracted the Boeing Company for the improvement of the Increment 3 Block 2 capabilities of the US Navy’s P-8A Poseidon multi-mission maritime aircraft.

Under the $60.84m-worth contract modification, Boeing will perform preliminary and critical design reviews on the P-8A Poseidon to enhance its Increment 3 Block 2 capabilities until February 2019.

A five-year support services contract worth $45.79m has been awarded to Consulting Services Group by the US Naval Special Warfare Command.

Under the multiple award contract, Consulting Services will deliver special operations aviation support services until August 2021.

The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation has awarded a second sensor system supply contract worth $23.7m to Lockheed Martin.

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will provide IRST21 sensor system spare parts for the F/A-18E/F fleet operated by the US Navy.
