CAE has been awarded a multicrew simulator contract in support of the US Navy’s new undergraduate military flight officer (UMFO) programme.

Under the contract, the company will develop two UMFO multicrew simulators (MCS) based on CAE’s existing mission crew trainer and tactical mission trainer products.

The simulators will be used for a range of training tasks including command and control, electronic warfare, navigation, sensor operations and weapons employment.

CAE group military products, training and aervices president Martin Gagne said, "The multicrew simulators will help naval flight officers improve communications, situational awareness and mission commander skills."
