The Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) has docked its first submarine at the newly built ASC West submarine support facility in Henderson, Western Australia.

The Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarine HMAS Farncomb is the first vessel to be docked at ASC West.

ASC managing director and CEO Steve Ludlam said the company had been awaiting its first submarine docking since the opening of ASC West in 2008.

“ASC West was built to deliver the floating dock and can maintain three submarines simultaneously in a state-of-the-art production environment,” he said.
