Under the $502m contract, SAIC will provide integrated logistics support, configuration management, test and evaluation, quality assurance and installation support.
The contract awarded by the SPAWAR is part of an overall US Navy initiative to update and replace computer and data networking systems onboard its surface ships and submarines.
The networking systems include the combined enterprise regional information exchange system maritime, integrated shipboard network system and sensitive compartmented information networks.
The naval tactical command support system, common submarine radio room and the submarine local area network are also included in the list.
Work under the eight-year contract will be carried out by the company at its San Diego facility in California, US.
