The Pakistani Navy has received a second Chinese-built F-22P frigate, PNS Shamsher.

PNS Shamsher, which was commissioned in Shanghai in December 2009, is the second of four F-22P warships built by the navy in collaboration with China.

The construction of the third ship at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai is also nearing completion and is expected to be delivered to Pakistan in the third quarter of 2010.

According to Pakistani naval sources, work on the fourth ship is progressing well at the Karachi Shipyard under a transfer of technology contract. It is expected to be complete by 2013.
