The US Navy has awarded a $250m contract to five small US-based companies for the building and maintainance of navy and marine corp facilities worldwide.

The five companies include Sound & Sea Technology, Truston Technologies, GPA Technologies and MAR incorporated.

Under this contract all the firms will provide support for naval ocean facilities engineering programme (NOFP) requirements controlled by the Engineering Service Centre.

The contract incorporates equipment fabrication, including ocean cable systems, ocean work systems, waterfront facilities, hyperbaric facilities, offshore structures, moorings and ocean construction equipments.
