The Australian Navy has equipped HMAS Perth, the Anzac Class frigate, with a new anti-ship missile defence radar system following a successful trial.

Developed by CEA Technologies, the new multiphase array radar system can identify, track and guide missiles to multiple targets simultaneously.

Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare said that at the moment the Anzac frigates could track and destroy one target at a time.

“This new radar means they will now be able to track and destroy multiple targets at the same time,” he added.
