FLIR Systems has received a contract from the US Navy to support the navy’s persistent ground surveillance system (PGSS).
Under the $25.6m initial order, the company will provide an imaging system, the Star SAFIRE 380-HD systems, and related systems, which are expected to be deployed on aerostats as part of the PGSS.
The three-year firm-fixed-price contract has an option of an additional $26.5m order, bringing the total value of the contract to $52.1m.
The deliveries under the initial order are scheduled to start in
September 2011.
