The US Navy has awarded a $795m contract to Northrop Grumman for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Programme.

Under a sole source, firm-fixed price $761 million contract, the company will manufacture and deliver five low-rate initial production (LRIP), Lot 3, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.

The company was also awarded a $34m modification contract for the procurement of one additional LRIP, Lot 2 E-2D aircraft and will also deliver long lead materials for five LRIP, Lot 4 aircraft.

The E-2 Hawkeye is a twin-turboprop all-weather, aircraft carrier-capable tactical airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft.
