Raytheon has been awarded a contract modification for the production of 90 block 1 mk44 mod 2 rolling airframe missile (RAM) guided-missile round pack all-up-rounds and 40 ordnance alteration kits.
The $57.8m contract, awarded by the US Naval Sea System Command, includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the modification contract to $113m.
Co-developed and co-produced under a Nato cooperative programme between the US and Germany, the RAM guided-missile weapon system will provide anti-ship missile defence for multiple ship platforms.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Arizona, West Virginia and Massachusetts, US, and in Germany, and is expected to be complete by December 2013.
