North Korea has test fired a short-range missile, the KN-06, off its west coast last week, according to South Korean media sources.

The sources have reported that the missile, with a range of 100km-110km, was launched into the Yellow Sea in an effort to improve the country’s missile capability and to increase the missile’s range.

The test is North Korea’s first known short-range missiles test fire since October 2009, when it test-fired five KN-02 surface-to-surface missiles off its east coast.
