UK Royal Navy helicopters from 849 Naval Air Squadron have participated in a major maritime exercise, codenamed Saxon Warrior, off the west coast of Cornwall, England.

The exercise also forms a crucial part of the UK and US military cooperation.

The Royal Navy airborne surveillance and control (ASaC) helicopters exercised along with the US Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, USS George HW Bush (GHWB).

During the exercise, the sophisticated radars on board the ASaC helicopters were used to control the jets from the aircraft carrier.

The USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier, along with its carrier strike group (CSG), is on its first overseas deployment to help ensure national and international security.
