The Italian Navy has accepted Selex Galileo’s four Janus-Naval (Janus-N) electro-optical turrets after successful completion of the trials.

Janus-N has been installed on four Italian Navy patrol boats to operate out of the navy’s harbour at Augusta, Sicily, Italy.

The delivery of the systems follows a contract signed last year for four systems, and the navy has plans to acquire a fifth system.

The electro-optic turret will be equipped with a human-machine interface console with display and controls for remote operation, and to detect, identify and record images day or night.
