BAE Systems has been awarded an undefined firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for mk38 mod 2 machine gun systems.

Under the $33.9m contract, BAE will provide 150 mk38 mod 2 machine gun system ordnance alteration (ORDALT) kits through fiscal 2010-2013.

The ORDALT kit consists of two-axis stabilisation with remote control capability and an on-mount day/night electro-optical suite along with an eye-safe laser range finder.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Israel and Kentucky, US and is expected to be completed by March 2012.
