The Pakistani Navy has inducted a second batch of four Z9EC anti-submarine helicopters, and the first information and electronic warfare (IW/EW) jet aircraft in its aviation fleet.

The Z9EC helicopters acquired from China, will operate from F-22P frigates and are equipped with advanced sensors and torpedoes for anti submarine warfare, according to the Online-international news network.

The IW/EW jet aircraft will add to the navy’s intelligence gathering capabilities, and are equipped with modern and sophisticated equipment to enhance maritime domain awareness of their own area of operations.

Pakistani chief of the naval staff Admiral Bashir said the induction of new platforms would provide navy with the means to face challenges more efficiently and effectively.
