Rohde & Schwarz has been selected to supply HF, VHF and UHF radio equipment to equip Australia’s Hobart Class air warfare destroyers (AWDs).

Under the A$30m (US$29.5m) system integration project, the radio equipment will comprise M3SR series 4100 and M3SR series 4400 software defined radios with associated filters / combiners and antennas.

The equipment, fitted into racks for installation in the ships’ hulls, will be delivered to the ASC shipyard in the Techport Australia precinct in Osborne, South Australia.

The system integration work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Sydney, Australia.
