Obama's Plans Imply Diet for Navy Procurement



The amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17) takes on fuel from the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Laramie (T-AO 203) in the Persian Gulf in December 2008. Although Obama's defence priorities seem to favour amphibious assets, the San Antonio Class has not been immune from the navy's endemic acquisitions problems.
